More Than Conquerors

More Than Conquerors

There is good news today and each day that you walk as a child of God through the Spirit as adopted sons and daughters.

“When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him.” ‭‭

Numbers‬ ‭7‬:‭2‬, ‭11‬, ‭89‬

God instructed Moses on how to set up the tent of meeting so that he could experience on earth how things are in heaven. God dwelling with his people, speaking to his people, and at one with his people. The cherubim above the atonement mirrors description of heaven.

God wants to meet with you today. He wants you to experience His presence. He wants to help you know Him and who you are to Him. Do you have a time and place that you go to meet with God? Do you talk with God throughout the day? How are you meeting with God so you can experience His presence and the power of the love of God?

“We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭124‬:‭7‬-‭8‬

Life is full of traps and things that can trip us up. What happens when we experience failure or fall down? Fear creeps into our lives like infectious mold in a home. Fear can attack our identity and harm our relationship with God and others. It can make us feel unworthy or incapable. It can make us believes lies and live in the false. David had his share of famous failures from murder to adultery, but something profound kept him moving forward. He knew that God loved him and wanted to free him from his failures. He knew he had help and a God who did not love him based on his performance.

What can we learn from David? God's love will always help us move forward. Forward through our failures and fears. Sin tries to separate, but we can overcome sin and life's stumbling blocks through God's saving grace. Where do you need help from the Lord today?

“Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all. Humility is the fear of the Lord...Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.”

You were made by God. You are not an accident nor unseen. Have you praised God for how He made you? He says you are uniquely and wonderfully made. Wisdom says all people regardless of their circumstances or social status are made by God and made for a purpose. You have a purpose to your life. God is the ultimate redeemer. He often uses the pain we have experienced combined with our God given strengths to help others and live out the purpose He has for us. ‭‭

Wisdom says that who you surround yourself with and how you approach each day will impact your journey. Solomon counsels us to be mentors, live generously, choose friends carefully, and walk intentionally. How can you apply that advice to your life to walk closer to Jesus?

Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭4‬, ‭6‬, ‭9‬, ‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭

“In my thirtieth year...the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.” ‭‭

Ezekiel‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬, ‭25‬-‭28‬

The prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of God. He saw a vision of a man who radiated the glory of God. Who else, but the Son of Man, Jesus Christ has displayed the fullness of the glory of God? The scriptures point to Jesus and when we look to Him we see the Heavenly Father. Jesus said if you see me you see the One who sent me. How can we draw close to God? Draw close to Jesus. Listen to His words and consider His ways as you go about this day. ‭

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans...because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”‭‭

Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭5‬-‭6‬, ‭14‬-‭18‬, ‭26‬-‭28‬, ‭31‬, ‭33‬-‭35‬, ‭37‬-‭39

Our greatest limitation in life is time on earth. We do not have enough time to fully comprehend and understand the love of God. Our minds cannot fathom how much higher God's ways are from our ways and His thoughts from our thoughts. Thankfully, we have the promise of heaven where we will have the time to learn what it means that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

How does Romans 8 impact your heart? There is power in this passage to transform your life as you hear God's words as spoken through Paul. This is a mountain top moment. A passage with such power that if we embrace the truth of God's words we can be forever changed. Look at the promises. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Your mind can be governed by life and peace through the Holy Spirit. Would you like more life and peace? Would you like to move beyond the shame and guilt of condemnation? Like Moses in the temple, hear from heaven what it means to have your identity as a child of God. You are an heir, precious to the Lord Most High, the one who receives a full inheritance as a member of His family. We do not see God as a distant God in the sky, but a personal, loving Father. Our Abba. One who is with us, who is known, seen, felt, and worthy of all praise.

You will have trouble in life. Paul says like Jesus you will experience suffering, but do not be disheartened. Our present will never compare to our promised hope! The Holy Spirit is interceding on your behalf for your good. Paul does not say all things are good. We wonder why bad things happen to faithful people and struggle to understand things like loss. Paul says God makes all things work for good. He turns tests into testimonies. Pain into purpose. Are you willing to believe that the Maker of Heaven and Earth can make a way for you with whatever you face?

Paul says Jesus himself is interceding for you. He says God is for you. When you face hardship God is for you. When you experience victory God is for you. Who then can come against you? No one. In Christ, you are more than a conqueror and can never be separated from His promised love. What does that mean to you? Have you embraced the power of God's promises, presence, and purposes? Do you understand how loved you are and how you can trust Jesus with everything, always? Do you believe that God will fulfill His promises and will you walk in the truth that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ? Nothing. Not one thing. Not fear, not guilt, not shame, not regret, not mistakes from your past, worries from your present, and anxiety of the future, not a person, nor performance, nor any problem can ever separate you from the love of Christ. You are His and He is your Abba, your Savior, Your Holy Spirit every day, all day, always and forever.
