Mission (Im)Possible: Cuba

Mission (Im)Possible: Cuba

Hello friends - during this week there will be no posts. Peter will be on a mission trip to Cuba, an island nation that is full of people that love God and are suffering. He has little in the way of communication access.

Additionally, there has been a lot of discussion in the news that at the federal level the potential for military strikes in Cuba by the US government is happening. Any military strike in any place always has the chance of collateral damage to civilians, no matter how one may feel about a regime. We should pray for the peace of the region, for the believers there struggling, and for our friend.

The island is currently experiencing blackouts with intelligence reports noting the power is on about one hour a day. Imagine trying to keep refrigeration or any other basic feature of life with only one hour of power a day.

Yet Peter has been to Cuba many times and the people are hungry for God. Pray that he has divine meetings, protection, and that God blesses the Cuban people richly. Pray for peace and if there is a transition in governmental power, that it goes peacefully. Regime change is always tricky and can quickly spread into violence, unrest, and total societal collapse.

As we pray, be prepared for wonderful stories of what God has done while he was there; God is always working on something and there will be incredible testimonies of what God was doing there in Cuba.
